Inspired by the homeowner’s exquisite collection of Ming Dynasty plum vases, known as Meiping, Essence Space Design has created a serene retreat that echoes the vase’s graceful form and the tranquil essence of a peaceful tea drinking experience. This core concept is reflected throughout the residence in a captivating visual narrative and masterfully blends modern aesthetics with subtle touches of traditional Chinese culture.
The entire space boasts soft and curved lines that mirror an elegant silhouette of the Meiping vase, and the living room features accents of pink jade, significant to the vase’s coral decorations which adds a timeless elegance. A sizable, arced stone slab on the TV wall combines Eastern color palettes with Western geometric norms, introducing a modern touch with its unique asymmetry.
The dining area showcases a distinctive round ceiling that symbolizes the family’s close bond and the soft lighting over the circular dining table fosters warmth and unity. This residence’s calming color palette and use of natural materials creates a comforting environment infused with elements of Chinese cultural mystique.

In addition to the inspiration from the plum vases, Essence Space Design incorporates minimalist Japandi elements to enhance the sense of openness. The color pattern, inspired by traditional Chinese gemstones and art, includes Kyara-iron (aloeswood color) shades that complement the key jade white, creating a modern and distinctive environment.
Arched designs create a cohesive narrative throughout the residence with curved facades and wall aspects that enhance the flow of the area. Rounded edges on the faux ceilings skillfully disguise structural elements, while beautifully designed arcs on the living room beams add depth and visual interest.
